Stable release candidate: 2 September 2026

The LAMMPS 2Sep2026 stable release candidate is now available for download on GitHub and and in the LAMMPS webserver download area.

This is the last feature update before the 2026 stable release which should be released within a couple of weeks. Until then, please try out this release and report any issues.
